Attach the three way valve to the syringe.
Instead of a needle use a sterile plastic addition spike.
Remove the valve cover from the three way valve.
Attach the plastic addition spike.
Set the three way valve to pull water from the intravenous bag to remove air from the line. The syringe may have to be pumped to remove from the syringe.
