Preparing The Hood

The hood is sanitized with sterile 70% isopropyl alcohol (IPA).
Use the liquid, not the spray bottle.

Some IPA is poured on the stainless steel counter in the hood.
Sterile urethane wipes are selected and used together, without separating them.

The wipes are wetted with the IPA.

The hood is wiped starting at the top with the intravenous bar.
The top light cover and HEPA filter grill are not routinely wiped.

After the top bar is wiped, the side wall are wiped.
The technique is to wipe up and down,
from front to back,
not going back in, over wiped surfaces.
